New Details on The STAR WARS Film Series Being Developed By The GAME OF THRONES Series Creators

Yesterday we learned that Game of Thornes series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are set to write and produce a new series of Star Wars films. We don't really know much about what they are going to do, but Disney CEO Bob Iger recently shared some additional information.

First of all, THR says that Benioff and Weiss are developing a new Star Wars trilogy, but Iger just says that it's a "number of films". This will be separate from the Skywalker saga and from the trilogy that Rian Johnson is developing. Iger goes on to a couple bits of new details, saying:

"Their interest was in creating a series of films that are Star Wars-based and we've actually been talking to them for a long time. To my knowledge they didn’t express interest in creating a series. They have an idea for number of films and at some later date I'm sure we'll disclose to all of you just what those are. They are focused on a point in time in the Star Wars mythology and taking it from there."

I wonder what point in time in the Star War mythology these new films will be set in. Like many of you, I'm really curious to know what exactly these guys are planning. I know we'll find out in due time, but until then I'll make sure to update you on any new developments.

What point in time in the Star Wars mythology would you like to see explored?
