New Details Revealed Regarding The Origin of Doctor Sivana in SHAZAM!

The trailer for DC's Shazam! offered us a very brief look at the villain Mark Strong plays in the film, Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. He looks great in the role and it looks like he will be able to match the strength of Shazam (Zachary Levi) but there's a little more to it than that.

During an interview with EW, director David Sandberg offered some interesting new details about the villain and gives us a little insight into his origin.

It's explained that the version of Sivana in the film also encountered The Wizard as a kid just like Billy Baston. The difference is, he was rejected to receive his powers. "Ever since then, Sivana has spent his life searching for a way to gain the abilities that Billy now possesses in a desire to live up to the expectations of a domineering father."

Judging by what we saw in the trailer, Sivana succeeds in getting those powers but it's explained that he's got a little extra something.

"And it’s not just him, really, it’s … something else … that lent him his powers … he can do some things that Shazam can’t. The danger in some films is the bad guy has the same powers as the good guy. [Sivana] has an extra thing, extra dynamic, that takes care of that….”

It'll be interesting to see what that extra thing could be. Is it connected to Black Adam somehow?
