New DUNE Image Features Josh Brolin and Timothée Chalamet on an Airborn Ornithopter

Thanks to Empire, we’ve got a new photo to share with you from director Denis Villeneuve's ambitious adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune.

The image features Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and his weapons trainer/mentor Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin) balancing on the wing of an ornithopter as it flys over the vast desert planet of Arrakis. This is obviously from one of the action sequences in the film.

Villeneuve talks about the image saying:

“It’s Paul’s first contact with the deep desert, where he’s mesmerised by it. He has a strange feeling of being home. There’s a lot of action at this specific moment, and [it’s] one of the scenes in the movie that I’m starting to get pretty proud of.”

That’s cool! This is a movie that a lot of fans can’t wait to see and I’m confident that Villeneuve is going to give us the incredible adaptation of Dune that we’ve all been waiting for.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:
