New DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Books Are Designed to Help Younger Players Become Introduced
Dungeons & Dragons has become a big part of my life. I really enjoy playing it and talking about it with others. I didn’t get introduced to it until I was in college though. Ever since I was in middle school though, I’ve loved the idea of creating characters and was planning out characters when World of Warcraft was first coming out. Now, kids will be able to have an easier time trying out D&D for themselves. Jim Zub has announced a new series of D&D books for younger audiences (middle school aged) to learn key aspects of the game and dip their toes in the water. The series will be called D&D Young Adventurer’s Guides and the first two books are already available for pre-orders.
Warriors & Weapons will essentially be the Player’s Handbook complete with explanations of the different classes and flowcharts to help new players decide what they should be. Meanwhile, Monsters & Creatures will be closer to the Monster Manual and the Dungeon Master’s Guide rolled into one. It’s designed to help introduce users to encounters and monsters. I wish I could’ve had these books when I was younger and will probably get them when my children are old enough to enjoy. Both books are set to release on July 16.
