New Episode of John Krasinski's SOME GOOD NEWS Offers a Baseball-Themed Dedication to Boston Medical Team with David Ortiz
We’ve had fun the last couple of weeks with John Krasinski’s new web series, Some Good News. The first episode featured a virtual reunion between Krasinski and his longtime The Office co-star, Steve Carell. Then last week, we were treated to a Hamilton reunion when Lin-Manuel Miranda dropped by with the original Broadway cast to perform the opening number of the hit show. It’s been a wild ride.
This week, Krasinski dedicated the episode to our national pastime, baseball. He showed videos of families playing baseball during the quarantine, and chatted about how weird it is that it’s springtime right now but we skipped opening day. Then he got on a call with the medical team on the COVID-19 unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, John’s hometown, where he gave the ladies an incredible surprise. Big Papi himself, Boston Red Sox first baseman David Ortiz joined the call, and he gave the team lifetime tickets to Fenway Park, and some major accolades for their outstanding work. As if that wasn’t enough, Krasinski then had them board a tour bus that took them to the ball park, let them take the field, and throw the “first pitch” of the season.
It was an awesome episode, and had plenty of good news across the board. I love this YouTube series, and I hope you are enjoying following along as well. After all, we could all use some good news right now.
