New Featurette For DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Focuses on The Frightening Side of the Multiverse

We’ve got a new behind-the-scenes featurette for you to watch for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The video features the cast and crew discussing the film and it mostly focuses on the horror aspect of the film and what Sam Raimi is bringing to the table with his experience as a horror movie director.

Kevin Feige says in the video that they wanted to explore the “mind-bending frightening side of the multiverse.” Elizabeth Olsen addresses Raimi’s goal of delivering a terrorizing cinema experience and says that with this film, “he created as much tension as possible for the audience, just ready for them to have that jump scare moment.”

When talking about joining the project, Raimi said: "I got a call from my agent saying that Kevin Feige and the Marvel team were looking for a director for the new 'Doctor Strange' movie, and I was a big fan of the first one. It was really intelligent and interesting. So, when that offer came in, I thought, 'This would be a really good challenge.'"

The video also features a few peaks of new footage from the film as well, but nothing that’s going to spoil anything for you.

Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called ‘the Multiverse.’ To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong (Benedict Wong), the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange…

The cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be in theaters on May 6th, 2022.
