New Featurette For Edgar Wright's THE RUNNING MAN Focuses on Fight and Action Training

Paramount has dropped another behind-the-scenes featurette for Edgar Wright’s The Running Man and it puts a focus on Glen Powell talking about the fight and action training. It also features some behind the scenes footage.

Based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel, The Running Man is set in a bleak future where a brutal game show forces contestants to run for their lives while being hunted by professional killers. The story has already been adapted once in the 1980s with Arnold Schwarzenegger, but Wright’s version promises something fresh, closer to the spirit of King’s book.

Powell steps into the lead role of Ben Richards, a desperate man who volunteers for the game in hopes of winning money to save his sick child and pull his family out of a miserable existence. As the official synopsis teases:

“Set in an oppressive future where the government controls the media, Ben Richards (starring Glen Powell) volunteers to participate in a deadly game show, which will see him hunted by professional killers over 30 days. Should he survive, he’ll win a cash prize that will help save his sick child and lift his family out of a horrid living situation.”

The cast is loaded with talent, including Katy O'Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo.

Wright is not only directing but also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall, his collaborator from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

The movie hits theaters on November 14, 2025, and marks Wright’s first feature since Last Night in Soho in 2021.
