Disney+ Shares a Featurette For THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN Highlighting Its Star-Studded Cast
The One and Only Ivan is an upcoming film from Disney that is based on the book of the same name which is based on a true story of a magnificent silverback gorilla. A recent behind-the-scenes featurette shows off the star-studded cast that includes Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, Angelina Jolie, Danny DeVito, Chaka Khan, and more as they talk about the story and bringing it to life.
Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant and Bob the dog. He has few memories of the jungle where he was captured, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ruby is recently separated from her family in the wild, which causes him to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be.
You’ll be able to stream The One and Only Ivan on Disney+ starting on August 21. Thea Sharrock directed the film.
