New Film Adaptation of Stephen King's CHILDREN OF THE CORN Picked Up by Shudder and RLJE

Director Kurt Wimmer’s new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror tale Children of the Corn has been picked up by RLJE Films and AMC network’s horror streaming service Shudder.

In this new take on the story, which serves as a prequel, “a psychopathic 12-year-old girl in a small town in Nebraska recruits all the other children and goes on a bloody rampage, killing the corrupt adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.”

I was wondering what was going on with this movie as it premiered a couple of years ago. But, it will now get a theatrical release on March 3rd before hitting On Demand and Digital on March 21st. The movie marks the eleventh entry in the franchise.

Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films, said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to work with Kurt Wimmer and bring his vision of this classic Stephen King story to new audiences.”

The movie stars Elena Kampouris (Before I Fall), Kate Moyer (Station Eleven), Callan Mulvey (The Gray Man) and Bruce Spence (The Road Warrior).

I’m not expecting this to be a great film, but I have been curious about it. So, I’m kinda looking forward to watching it. I’m a big fan of the original movie that was made! It scared the crap out of me when I was growing up!
