New Footage from AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Screened at CES

Marvel recently showed off some new footage from Avengers: Age of Ultron at CES. We've seen a good amount of footage from the film thanks to the trailers that have been released, and we have another one coming next Monday! Maybe some of the footage that was shown at CES will be included in this upcoming trailer.

Thanks to IGN, we have some details on the new footage. They say that the stuff shown focused a lot on the villain of the movie, Ultron. There was a lot of footage that we've already screened that was shown, and it was intercut with director Joss Whedon and several of the film's actors talking about the villain and how important he is to the story. As far as the new scenes go, here are a few brief descriptions:

  • “A shot of what appears to be Ultron bots bursting through the walls of the train in the slow-mo Quicksilver sequence.”
  • “Iron Man flies at the camera, leaving tumbling Ultron bots in his wake.”
  • “A third sequence showed the destruction of a Samsung-owned building.”

I can't wait to see what this slow motion sequence looks like, and how it compares to the one that we saw and loved in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The featurette they saw also included a collection of Ultron concept art, mostly in a broken state. They explain that it "really brought home the notion that the villain gets more advanced as the movie goes on."

Whedon also revealed in the video that "whenever he thought of the Avengers, he pictured them fighting Ultron, and the footage was peppered with old school Ultron imagery to bring his point home and tie this version of Ultron to his roots."

I just can't get enough of what Marvel is pumping out. As long as they keep making good quality entertaining films, I'll be there to support them. They've got a great thing going right now, and I don't think they're going to screw it up. Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1st! Stay tuned for that new trailer coming next week!
