New Game VERNE: THE SHAPE OF FANTASY Looks Like a Fun Tribute to Jules Verne

Assemble Entertainment has announced a new game planned for release in 2023, Verne: The Shape of Fantasy. Based on the real life works of Jules Verne, the game is set in a parallel universe in 1888. Navigate puzzles and villains of the dreadful “Nation” as you work to unlock the secrets of Atlantis. You’ll board the mighty Nautilus as Jules Verne and work with Captain Nemo and the courageous crew as you try to locate the power that destroyed Atlantis: the Flame of Hephaestus. You’ll have the help of the “IMAG”, an ancient Atlantean device that will allow Verne to rewrite his story and change the fate of the adventure. It will be a side scroller inspired by old school adventure games where solving puzzles and exploring everything will be your key to success.

The game sounds really fun, especially for fans of the legendary Verne. Verne’s novels have been on my “to read” list for a long time, but I think I’ll have to be sure to read them before this game releases as it is sure to be full of Easter eggs for those familiar with his works. This game sounds wildly fun though, I love a good adventure story and this one sounds like it will have an amazing narrative. You can check out the trailer below and wish list it on Steam now where you can also play a free demo.
