New GHOSTBUSTERS Animated Series Being Developed for Netflix by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan

Ghostbusters: Afterlife director Jason Reitman and writer Gil Kenan are now working together on developing a new Ghostbusters animated series for Netflix! They will be executive producing the series through their Ghost Corps, Inc production company.

As of right now, there are no plot details to share, and there’s no writer attached. The project is still in early development, but it will be interesting to see how it turns out. There was also a Ghostbusters animated film announced back in 2015, but I don’t know what the status of that is.

This will be the third animated Ghostbusters show that has been produced. The Real Ghostbusters aired for 140 episodes from 1986-1991. That show continued the adventures of the characters from the original film. That was followed by the 1997 series Extreme Ghostbusters, which aired for 40 episodes in syndication. That show featured a new lineup of characters who were led by Egon Spengler.

Stay tuned for more Ghostbusters news as today is Ghostbusters Day!
