New GUARDIANS VOL. 2 Concept Art Shows Matthew McConaughey as Ego

Kurt Russell was a great villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He played the role of Ego the Living Planet with confidence and charisma while still being a fantastic villain. But before he was picked as Star Lord's Dad, there were plenty of other actors who were almost chosen. Some recent images show just one of those many choices.

Some of the names that were tossed around include Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Viggo Mortensen, and even Christopher Plummer. But of all those names, there was one that stood out as a top choice at first. That would be Matthew McConaughey, who was looked at so seriously at one point some early concept art was whipped up for him to see what he might look like.
