New HALLOWEEN KILLS Photos and Creative Team Teases The "Intense and Brutal" Sequel
Thanks to Total Film/GamesRadar, we have a few new photos to share with you today from director David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills. The creative team behind the film also tease the “intense and brutal” sequel.
Jamie Lee Curtis says, "It's intense and brutal. Just brutal.” Danny McBride adds, “There's an incredible amount of killing in this movie. It's so bloody. It's wild. David [Gordon Green] just went for it. This is such a vicious sequel. It's relentless."
So, for those of you hoping for a blood bath, it looks like you’re going to get it! McBride goes on to note that they went out of their way to make sure this sequel doesn’t shit the bed:
"The sequel is almost always where it shits the bed. Or the monster is over-explained, or something happens that makes it into a joke. We really wanted find a way to sidestep that."
The report goes on to say that they Incorporated "a lot of ideas" developed for Halloween 2018, and that “it was decided that Halloween Kills would pick up moments after the ending of the ending of the first film.”
In the film, “minutes after Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor.
“But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster.
“The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.”
This sure does look like it’s going to be a great sequel! The movie also stars Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Thomas Mann (Kong: Skull Island), Michael Myers actors Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney will also come back to their shared role. The film also includes Kyle Richards returning as Lindsey Wallace, Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle, and Nancy Stephens who will reprise her role as Nurse Marion.
The sequel hits theaters on October 15, 2021. Check out the new photos that have been revealed below:
