A new poster has been shared for director David Gordon Green’s upcoming horror film Halloween Kills. The poster was released by Dolby Cinema to coincide with the launch of ticket sales. Yes, you can now purchase tickets for the movie. But hey, if you don’t want to watch the movie in theaters, the movie is also being released simultaneously on Peacock.

When it was announced that the film would also go to streaming, a lot of people wondered why they did that. I personally don’t care, as long as I get to see it in theaters, I’m good. It doesn’t hurt me, it will only hurt the film’s box office performance.

Producer Jason Blum recently revealed that it was his decision to release the film on streaming and he explained why, saying:

“It was my idea to do it. [Peacock] didn’t approach me. I approached them. I, like everyone else, am a big believer in the theatrical experience. I think eventually I think there should be windows. I think Universal’s strategy of the three-week window is a great strategy, but I had a bad distribution experience with Freaky. That movie is a great movie, and it didn’t get seen because the distribution of it got all twisted up. My fault.”

So his bad experience with Freaky inspired this Halloween Kills decision. I liked Freaky! But that movie was released when a lot of movie theaters were all shut down. It’s almost a year later and that’s not the case anymore. Anyway, like I said, I don’t care, at least people have the option.

How will you be watching the movie?

In the film, “minutes after Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor.

“But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster.

“The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.”

The movie also stars Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Thomas Mann (Kong: Skull Island), and Michael Myers actors Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney, who will also come back to their shared role. The film also includes Kyle Richards returning as Lindsey Wallace, and Nancy Stephens who will reprise her role as Nurse Marion.

Halloween Kills will be released in theaters and on the Peacock streaming service on October 15th.
