James Gunn Asks Fans Which DC Comics Character They'd Like to See Make Their Big Screen Debut
Two weeks ago, it was reported that director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran have taken over as the leaders of the DC Universe moving forward. In the days since the announcement, the pair have come out and said that this job is a real passion project for them, and they are looking to tell the biggest story ever told across multiple films! It sounds pretty ambitious, but if they are looking to match the same level of quality and box-office stability that Marvel boasts, they are shooting in the right direction.
Gunn has made some of the most successful films from both Marvel and DC, so he is in a great position to know how to drive this company, and to help other filmmakers create a universe worthy of the fans. And he’s looking to fans to know what they want to see as far as new characters.
In a recent post on Mastodon, the CO-CEO asked:
“Which DC character/s who hasn’t yet had their own film do you want to see most on the big screen?”
Some popular answers were Poison Ivy, Martian Manhunter, Batgirl, Nightwing, Booster Gold, Green Arrow, or a new Green Lantern. I think James Gunn is the perfect person for this job, and I can’t wait to see what he does with the DC universe! So who would you like to see in their own DC movie?
