New Insight on the Version of DAREDEVIL We'll See in SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW - "It's Very Much Planned"
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is set to bring Charlie Cox back to the MCU in all his Daredevil glory, and this time he’s sporting a slick yellow suit. Some fans are wondering if this version of Daredevil we see in the series is a variant with a new unique take on the character, or if this is a continuation from the Netflix shows.
I’ve always just assumed that this version of the character is the same one from the Netflix series. The creative team of the series, director Kat Coiro and head writer Jessica Gao, aren’t really giving any concrete answer on that. When asked about it in a recent interview with CB, Coiro said:
"I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it, but it's very conscious and it's very much planned, That's all I can say."
Gao shared a little bit more insight on the character, saying:
"We were like, 'This is our version,' and it's true for any character. Like every character that we've used that existed in the MCU, it gets to be a little bit different on our show because you see them in very dramatic roles like these big high pressure, high stakes kind of situations but on our show because our show is more of a slice of life, they can kinda take a break from that."
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is going to include several familiar MCU faces including Wong, Abomination, Hulk, and more. Gao went on to talk about what she means when she says “this is our version”:
"They get to take a little bit of a comedy vacation. Of course, after our show, they get to go back to save the world, saving the universe, very serious, intense story but on our show, they get to just take a little break and when the universe is not at stake like, 'What's going on with you?' They get a chance to really explore like a different part of their character because not everyone can be at a 10 saving the world every minute of every day."
Coiro went on to talk about working with Marvel boss Kevin Feige on the series, saying:
"What's cool is like Kevin is really involved on that level and he holds the entire MCU in his brain. And so everyone would have ideas about who should join, and then he would know, you know, which threads would connect and which ones would explode everything. But because of the premise is a Superhuman Law Division, you have this really organic way of introducing pretty much anybody you want."
After all that being said, I’m pretty confident in saying that the Deadpool we see in She-Hulk is going to be the same Deadpool from the Netflix show. They are just going to continue to build and expand on that character in this series and the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. What do you all think?
