New JOKER Set Photos and Video Shows Joaquin Phoenix In Action in Full Make-up and Costume
We’ve got a new video from the set of director Todd Phillips Joker along with a collection of new photos to share with you today. They feature Joaquin Phoenix decked out in full make-up and also wearing a classic Joker-style suit.
Some fans were wondering if that first look we got of The Joker was going to be the final look of the character in the film, and judging by what we are seeing in these set photos and video, it looks like that it will be. I’m actually ok with that! I dig this look and I think Phoenix is going to completely own this character and give us something incredible.
I also included a couple other photos from the set. One featuring a poster of Thomas Wayne running for Mayor and another featuring a Gotham City subway map that is full of Batman Easter eggs for fan to search for.

Phillips is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver. The studio has described the story as being an "exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale."
Joker is "meant to be different from other comic book superhero movies". The story is also said to "delve into what it took for the Joker to become a mastermind criminal" and rumor has it that the film’s story will revolve around a Arthur Fleck, a failed comedian whose failures lead him into a life of crime.
It’s going to be interesting to see how exactly Arthur’s transformation into The Joker unfolds on the big screen. I know a lot of people aren’t excited about this movie, but this is actually the DC film currently shooting that I’m most excited about because it’s going to be a very different and experimental DC movie.
The film also stars Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, and Zazie Beetz. De Niro will play a reporter; Beetz will play a single mother who catches the attention of the Joker prior to his transformation the villain; and Conroy will play Joker's mother, Penny.
The studio has set an October 4th, 2019 release date.
