New JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM Featurette Explores The Darkest Jurassic Movie Yet
I don't know about you, but I'm actually pretty excited about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. If you are as well, Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for the film that you'll want to watch!
The video includes interviews with director J.A. Bayona, writer Colin Trevorrow, producer Steven Spielberg, Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard. They talk about the latest installment of the franchise, how it ties all the way back to the original film and tease how this next chapter is the darkest and most dangerous chapter of the franchise yet. I like that they have given this next film a very gothic tone, which is something that's discussed in the video.
Here's the synopsis:
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) is directing the film and it looks like he did some awesome stuff with it! The movie stars Chris Pratt as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu, James Cromwell as Benjamin Lockwood, Justice Smith and Toby Jones. Oh, and how can I forget Jeff Goldblum's return to the role of Dr. Ian Malcolm.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to be released on June 22, 2018.
