New Trailer Released for Season Two of DIARY OF A FUTURE PRESIDENT on Disney+
Disney+ recently revealed new key art and a new trailer for the second season of their original series Diary of a Future President. Season two of the series will premiere on August 18 and continues the story of the Cuban American Elena Cañero-Reed played by Tess Romero.
The series was created by showrunner Ilana Peña who uses her own adolescence as a loose inspiration for the series. In addition to Romero, executive producer Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) plays a grown-up version of Elena who appears throughout the season, Selenis Leyva (Orange is the New Black) plays Elena’s mother Gabi, Charlie Bushnell is Elena’s brother Bobby, and Michael Weaver is Gabi’s boyfriend Sam.
Continuing the origin story of Cuban American and future leader Elena Cañero-Reed as she enters the seventh grade and recounted through excerpts from 13-year-old Elena's diary, this coming-of-age series follows Elena through the ups and downs of middle school which sets her on the path to becoming the President of the United States.
The key art for the second season was created by Latinx artist Katty Huertas. All 10 episodes of season two will be available to stream on August 18 with season one of Diary of a Future President now streaming on Disney+.
