New Line Cinema Developing a Horror-Themed Follow-Up To ISN'T IT ROMANTIC Titled ISN'T IT SCARY

New Line Cinema is developing a horror-themed follow-up to Rebel Wilson’s rom-com Isn’t It Romantic, which will be titled Isn’t It Scary.

The film is being written by April Prosser (Look Both Ways) and the movie is said to take “a similarly meta approach, riffing on the tropes of the horror genre.”

Isn’t It Romantic centers on Natalie, “a New York architect who works hard to get noticed at her job, but is more likely to deliver coffee and bagels than design the city's next skyscraper.

“Things go from bad to weird when she gets knocked unconscious during a subway mugging and magically wakes up to find herself in an alternate universe.

“Always cynical about love, Natalie's worst nightmare soon comes true when she suddenly discovers that she's playing the leading lady in a real-life romantic comedy.”

So, the sequel will actually focus on terrifying nightmarish things, which should be a lot of fun to watch! This is a great concept that will work really well with the horror genre.

No other talent is attached to the project right now, but it will be interesting to see how the film comes together.
