New Line Cinema is moving forward with its remake of the popular South Korean zombie thriller Train to Busan. They are hiring Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre, Killers, V/H/S 2) to helm the film. He most recently directed Netflix’s action-thriller The Night Comes for Us.

If you haven’t seen the original film yet, you should check it out! It’s a great flick and the story follows a man, his estranged daughter, and other passengers who become trapped on a speeding train during a zombie outbreak in South Korea.

James Wan is producing the film through his Atomic Monster, and Gary Dauberman (Annabelle) is adapting the screenplay.

It was inevitable that Train to Busan would get remade. I’m not a fan of remakes, but since this project is actually going to happen, I hope that it does the original film justice.
