New Clip from Guillermo del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN Features Jacob Elordi Being Brought to Life
IGN has dropped a new clip from Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, featuring the film’s stars Jacob Elordi as The Creature and Oscar Isaac as the scientist, Victor Frankenstein. The cast also includes Mia Goth as Elizabeth Harlander, Felix Kammerer as Victor’s brother William, and Christoph Waltz as Heinrich Harlander.
In a recent interview with Variety, del Toro explained what drives this adaptation on a deeper emotional level. “To me, [the message] is to reconnect emotionally to the idea of the power of forgiveness and acceptance — which is absolutely … a very scarce material right now,” he said.
“It’s not a blockbuster — a preconceived notion. It’s not a franchise. It’s something that it speaks very directly and autobiographically, unfortunately to me and many in the past.”
While early reactions to Frankenstein were mixed, full reviews have leaned positive, with the film currently holding an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 96 reviews. The movie’s dark, emotional tone and rich visuals seem to have resonated with audiences who appreciate del Toro’s signature blend of horror and humanity.
Frankenstein will hit select theaters on October 17 before its global Netflix debut on November 7. Check out the new clip below, and let us know what you think:
