New Look at James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD Features All the Crazy Characters

Thanks to the latest cover of Empire Magazine, we have a new look at James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and it features the cast of crazy characters that fill the story. There are two group shots that you can check out below:

The impressive cast includes Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Steve Agee as King Shark, and Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, Michael Rooker as Savant, Nathan Fillion is T.D.K., Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, Alice Braga as Sol Soria, Steve Agee is King Shark, John Cena is Peacemaker, Joaquín Cosío is Mayor General Mateo Suarez, Jennifer Holland is Emilia Harcourt, Storm Reid is Bloodsport's daughter, Tyla, Sean Gunn as Weasle, Flula Borg as Javelin, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, and Mayling Ng as Mongal. Taika Waititi will also be in the film.

When previously talking about the upcoming film, director James Gunn described it as a 1970’s style war movie, and he explained that "The Suicide Squad is by far the most fun I've ever had making a movie," and that he wanted to include "great DC villains" in the film whether they were a part of Task Force X in the comics or not.

Joel Kinnaman, who plays Rick Flagg, also said in a previous interview that the movie will be “heavily Rated-R” and a “fucking monster.” I’m sure fans are excited to find out what he means by that when the movie is released.

“That movie is going to be insane. The script is so funny. Every page of that script was funny, and every page made me laugh. James just has this command of that genre, but also over every aspect of comedy and even the marketing. He just understands the world so well, and since he wrote it, he really reinvents not just the concepts, but also the characters … It’s like heavily R-rated … That movie is going to be a fucking monster.”

The Suicide Squad is currently set to hit theaters on August 6, 2021. I can’t wait to watch this thing! I’m confident that Gunn is going to blow fans away.
