A new piece of poster art was spotted for Marvel’s upcoming animated series What If…? and it seems to tease the introduction of the Guardians of the Multiverse.

The image of the poster was shared on Twitter by Anne Talks Comics and the merch suggests that Marvel's various heroes in the series could come together as a team that Marvel is naming the Guardians of the Multiverse.

This could just be a fun poster that brings several of the characters from the series together and it may not have any real meaning. I personally don’t think that these characters will team up like this as each episode is set in a different universe. The series isn’t set in only one version of the multiverse, there will be multiple versions explored.

Marvel’s What If…? is an anthology series where The Watcher looks at instances of where the MCU could have gone in a completely different direction. The series will include most of the MCU cast reprising their roles in the series, which will examine the 23 past films in the MCU, but each of the stories will feature one key difference showing how the story would have played out differently.

I’m not quite sure how or why the characters would need to team up and become The Guardians of the Multiverse, but I guess we’ll see what happens. Do you think all of these multiverse characters will team up?

What If…? is set to hit Disney+ in Summer 2021.

The voice cast includes Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Taika Waititi as Korg, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Michael Rooker as Yondu.
