New MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Rumor Teases a Fun Post-Credits Surprise

The upcoming Masters of the Universe movie is still a couple months out, but there’s already a fun little tease making the rounds that could get longtime fans pretty excited. A new rumor points to a post-credits scene that introduces a character fans have been waiting a long time to see in live-action.

According to insider Daniel Ritchman, the film will include a single stinger, and it’s said to feature the debut of Orko. The floating Trollan wizard has been a staple of the franchise’s animated series, but he’s never made the jump to live-action before.

Interestingly, earlier reports suggested Orko might appear briefly somewhere in the main story. But since he’s been completely absent from trailers and marketing, this post-credits reveal makes sense, and will it give the movie a little extra spark at the end.

Orko, originally known as Gorpo, wasn’t even part of the original toy line. He was created for the classic 1980s animated series to bring some humor into the mix. Since then, he’s popped up in every animated version of Masters of the Universe, and it will be interesting to see how they bring him life for the movie.

The film is directed by Travis Knight, and the story centers on Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, who’s been separated from Eternia for years. When the Sword of Power calls him back, he finds his home world under the control of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. From there, it becomes a battle to reclaim his destiny as He-Man.

In the film, “after being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor.

“To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe."

The cast is packed with some great choices. Alongside Galitzine, Mendes, Leto, and Elba, the film also stars Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley as King Randor and Queen Marlena, and Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn.

Supporting roles include Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, and Kristin Wiig lending her voice to Roboto.

This project has had a pretty wild journey getting here. It was previously in development at Netflix before falling apart, only to be picked up by Amazon MGM Studios.

Masters of the Universe hits theaters on June 5, 2026, and it’ll be interesting to see how much of Eternia the movie actually explores.
