New "Meet The Team" PEACEMAKER Clip Reveals Why the Antihero Goes Back to Killing People

HBO Max has released a new clip from James Gunn’s DC series Peacemaker. The sneak peek is called “Meet The Team,” and in it, we learn why John Cena's antihero chooses to go back to killing people. Also Peacemaker ends up meeting the team that he’ll be working with on this new mission his was assigned to take on.

Instead of serving a full 30-year sentence of the crimes he committed, Peacemaker has been given some liberties as long as he serves the government when they need him to go on mission for them. It’s all a part of Amanda Waller’s shady task force program.

Peacemaker is described as being an action-adventure comedy, and it will “explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”

When previously talking about the series Gunn said, "Peacemaker is an opportunity to delve into current world issues through the lens of this superhero/supervillain/and world's biggest douchebag. I'm excited to expand The Suicide Squad and bring this character from the DC film universe to the full breadth of a series. And of course, to be able to work again with John, Peter, and my friends at Warner Bros. is the icing on the cake."

The series also stars Steve Agee as Economos, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith.

Gunn wrote the Peacemaker series, and he directed five episodes. Peacemaker premieres January 13, 2022, on HBO Max.
