New MORTAL KOMBAT 1 Trailer Features Jean-Claude Van Damme in Action as Johnny Cage

Jean-Claude Van Damme is coming to the world of Mortal Kombat, and NetherRealm has released a new Mortal Kombat 1 that features footage of Van Damme in action as a character skin for Johnny Cage.

It’s pretty rad seeing Van Damme all decked out in his Bloodsport-inspired gear but with Johnny Cage mannerisms. The footage features the character fighting and he does the classic splits move while punching his opponent in the crotch. It’s pretty amusing.

Van Damme joins Megan Fox in Mortal Kombat 1, who was revealed to provide the voice and likeness for Nitara.

It’s explained that the game “will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before, along with a new fighting system, game modes, bone krushing finishing moves, and more.”

The Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage is part of the Kombat Pack, alongside early access to six new downloadable content (DLC) playable characters – Quan Chi, Ermac, Takeda Takahashi, Peacemaker, Omni-Man, and Homelander (which are all available post-launch) – and five new Kameo Fighters (available post-launch). The Kombat Pack is available as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition and Kollector’s Edition, which can be pre-ordered now.

Mortal Kombat 1 arrives on September 19th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
