NEW MUTANTS Director Josh Boone Lines Up Supernatural Thriller SIAMESE DREAM
Fresh off the strong theatrical run of Regretting You, Josh Boone has teamed up once again with Constantin Film for a new supernatural thriller titled Siamese Dream, and the premise sounds like it could hit hard in all the right ways.
Boone co-wrote the script with his frequent collaborator Knate Lee, crafting an original story centered on a hitman living in Honolulu whose life takes a dark turn after a botched attempt on his own life.
In the chaos, he accidentally kills a young woman, and that’s when things spiral. He’s soon haunted by her ghost, forcing him into a spiritual reckoning he can’t escape. It’s a character-driven thriller with a supernatural edge, and Boone has proven he likes to mix emotional weight with genre elements.
Constantin Film is fully financing the project, which is expected to begin production later this year. The sales and finance company north.five.six. is introducing Siamese Dream to buyers at this week’s European Film Market, keeping the momentum going internationally.
Boone’s last film, Regretting You, based on the Colleen Hoover novel, was a box office win. Released by Paramount last October, the Allison Williams and Dave Franco-led drama pulled in $48.9 million domestically and ultimately reached $90.5 million worldwide. He also helmed the dark Marvel horror film The New Mutants.
With Siamese Dream, Boone looks ready to dive back into darker, more supernatural territory. If this new thriller delivers on its haunted hitman premise, it could be a very cool next chapter for the filmmaker.
