New Nintendo XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 3 Direct Shows Off Main Charactes And Features

Nintendo recently held a direct devoted to the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3. In it we get an introduction to the story and the war torn world of Aionios. There are 6 main characters, 3 each from the nations Keves and Agnus. Each looks unique from each other and looks fun to play as. Here are some of the other highlights from the direct.

The world of Aionios is huge and full of many different dangers. Not only will you come across both docile and hostile creatures, but there will be groups of Keves and Agnus soldiers duking it out. Don’t be too worried about the vast landscape though, it looks like they are implementing some quick travel options the more you explore. You’ll also find quests from the various denizens of the world.

We also get a look at Arts which are powerful abilities for fighting. Each have a unique effect ranging from throwing opponents off balance to healing allies. You’ll be able to link Arts together in chain attacks and you can even learn powerful master arts. 

Classes can be swapped around however you want amongst the characters. Class will influence how your character fights, but switching between characters in battle looks seamless  as well as changing your character’s class. This will help you be able to build up a well rounded team. You’ll also be able to discover other heroes in the world who will fight alongside your team, though you are limited to only one at a time you can freely change between them as you need to.

The ouroboros looks wildly fun to play with. This is when two characters in your party fuse into one more powerful being. You can switch between which character is in charge and this will change the fighting style and look of the ouroboros. It will be cool to see all the various forms by experimenting with different pairings. 

You can also use any compatible amiibo to get helpful in game items. For example, the Shulk amiibo will change a character’s sword to appear as the Monado from the original Xenoblade Chronicles.
