New NSFW Clip From DC's PEACEMAKER Series Takes a Jab at Aquaman
In case you forgot, San Diego Comic-Con had a live in-person event this weekend. I don’t know who went as it was Thanksgiving weekend and a lot of people were traveling and spending time with family and friends. I didn’t really see any news come out of the event over the weekend, so I suppose we didn’t miss out on much.
But, there was one thing that was shared that I figured I’d share with you! That one thing is a new clip for James Gunn’s upcoming DC HBO Max series, Peacemaker. The clip is NSFW and it features John Cena’s Peacemaker taking a jab at Aquaman.
The jab comes when Peacemaker gets into an argument with a janitor named Jamil (Rizwan Manji) as Peacemaker tries to convince him he’s a superhero. Jamil mentions Aquaman and Cena snaps back at him, "Fuck Aquaman!" You can enjoy the clip below!
Peacemaker is described as being an action-adventure comedy, and it will “explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.” The question is… is Peacemaker a redeemable character? Can Gunn actually pull that off? It looks like he’s going to try!
In a previous interview, Gunn shared, "I loved the 1970s Captain America [TV movie] when I was a kid. I thought making a really f---ed-up version of that with Peacemaker would be fun." He then admits, "I did exactly the thing I hate when other filmmakers do [it]. But I did it! I'll have to live with the repercussions, which is the most incredible TV show people will ever see."
Gunn went on to share details on the story saying that the eight-episode series centers on "black ops combating something catastrophic that's facing the planet." It’s explained that Peacemaker, Harcourt, and Economos team up with three new characters.
The series also stars Steve Agee as Economos, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, and Freddie Stroma as Vigilante.
Gunn wrote the Peacemaker series, and he directed five episodes. Peacemaker premieres January 13, 2022, on HBO Max.
