New Photo from DEATH NOTE Featuring L and Light Meeting Face-to-Face in the Netflix Film

Death Note director Adam Wingard released a new photo from his feature film adaptation showing L and Light meeting face-to-face. The first teaser trailer for the movie was released a couple days ago, and it was met with mixed reactions.

Some people liked what they saw, while others complained about it. That's just how it goes with these kinds of film projects, though. The filmmakers will never make all of the fans happy, but they do their best.

It's not like any of us didn't know that there were going to be changes made during the development process. Hell, Marvel and DC change things up all the time from their source material to the big screen, and for the most part, fans accept it.

Regardless, what we saw was a very brief tease, and it's hard to judge what Wingard and his team have done with only a minute of footage. I personally liked what I saw, and I'm looking forward to seeing more. Wingard is a talented filmmaker and this just seems like a project that he wouldn't drop the ball on.

The movie also stars Nat WolffWillem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Lakeith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi, and Shea Whigham. Here's the synopsis:

Based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life.

Death Note will premiere on Netflix this summer on August 25.
