Most fans haven’t really been impressed by what they’ve seen from this upcoming new Hellboy movie so far. The light and playful tone of the first trailer that was released didn’t really sit well with fans.

We’ll eventually end up getting a new trailer that will hopefully show off the darkness and horror aspect of the film that the creative team has been promising would be there. But until that trailer is released, we have a new photo to share with you featuring David Harbour as Hellboy.

The actor also talked to Empire Online, saying that one thing he made sure he didn’t do is imitate Ron Perlman’s version of the character:

"[Perlman] does something quite extraordinary in those films that is very specific to him, and I did not want to imitate that in any way. In our movie Hellboy’s younger. He’s rougher. He’s much more of a teenager. He’s really struggling with the idea of whether or not he’s a good person."

I really wanted this movie to be good, but like many of you, I have yet to be impressed. There’s a good chance that this movie is going to bomb at the box office.

The Hellboy reboot was directed by Neil Marshall and also stars Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as the Nimue the Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio, and Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida, a witch who has decided that the Blood Queen's wrath has gone on for too long. Then there’s Thomas Haden Church, who is playing Lobster Johnson.

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Hellboy hits theaters on April 12th, 2019.
