New Photo From Marvel's SHE-HULK and Tatiana Maslany Shares New Details on Her Character

I’ve always liked She-Hulk because she’s such an interesting and different kind of Marvel hero. While she has superpowers, she is someone who is more interested in fighting crime as a lawyer using the legal system. I’ve been excited about the Marvel Studios series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and thanks to Empire, we have a new photo to share with you along with some additional insight on the main character from series star Tatiana Maslany.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters “as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.” The nine-episode series is described as an Ally McBeal-style legal comedy.

When talking about Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk, Maslany explained: “She really is the antithesis of most superhero narratives. Walters is someone who really tries to run from her newfound abilities. There’s this great element of denial in her that’s relatable. For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk.”

When talking about Walter’s profession as a lawyer, the actress shared, “She’s in a career that’s male-dominated and incredibly vicious and hierarchal. When she’s heading this superhuman firm, that’s where we get some really fun characters that she’s either defending or in opposition of. It’s like this really absurd take on a legal show.”

She goes on to talk a bit about working with Mark Ruffalo on the series saying, “We were so goofy, like two kids who had been handed shovels by our parents and told to go and play in the sandbox.”

The show also stars Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

Rick and Morty's Jessica Gao created the show and Kat Coiro split directing duties on the series with Anu Valia. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro and Jessica Gao.

She-Hulk is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 17th.
