New Photo From the Final Season of THE CROWN Teases Prince Charles' Second Royal Wedding
A new photo has been released by Netflix UK’s social media, which teases the upcoming final season of The Crown, which will cover Prince Charles (now King Charles III) and his second royal wedding to his current wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles.
The post on Netflix’s UK social media page features a picture of an order of service from the royal wedding, which took place in 2005. The teaser confirms that The Crown‘s final season will feature Charles grieving the death of Princess Diana in 1997 and later moving on to his second wife, the now Queen Camilla.
The show’s producers previously explained that they filmed the death of Princess Diana with “enormous sensitivity.”
Executive producer Suzanne Mackie said of the final season and actress Elizabeth Debicki’s portrayal of Diana:
“The show might be big and noisy, but we’re not. We’re thoughtful people and we’re sensitive people. There were very careful, long conversations about how we were going to do it. The audience will judge it in the end, but I think it’s been delicately, thoughtfully recreated. Elizabeth Debicki is an extraordinary actress and she was so thoughtful and considerate. She loved Diana. There’s a huge amount of respect from us all, I hope that’s evident.”
The Crown is set to return for its sixth and final season later this Fall.
