New Photo of Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy From THE BOYS Season 3
We’ve got a new photo to share with you from Amazon’s The Boys Season 3 featuring a vintage-style image of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy in World War II. The photo comes from Vought International with the following note:
In 1945, an executive order was drafted to establish April 28 as #SoldierBoyDay, honoring his heroic efforts in World War II. But he humbly changed it to #NationalSuperheroDay instead, making it a day ALL heroes are celebrated. Retweet to honor the original!
Soldier Boy is the Captain America parody character in the series and you can see that influence in the costume design. He has a backstory that is very similar to Captain America’s, and he became a big celebrity after fighting in World War II. The character’s legacy is described as being “a mainstay of American culture for decades.”
The Boys is “a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought — the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super powerful.”
The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and series newcomers Jensen Ackles, Nick Wechsler, and Laurie Holden.
The Boys Season 3 will premiere on Friday, June 3rd exclusively on Prime Video.
