New Photos For UNCHARTED Teases Young Nathan Drake's Adventure

Director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) recently wrapped shooting Sony Picture’s upcoming film Uncharted, which is based on the popular video game franchise. Tom Holland takes on the role of young Nathan Drake while Mark Wahlberg is playing Sully.

The studio has shared four new images from the film, which teases the adventure that young Drake will find himself embarking on in the film. The first image features a jewel adorned cross, which is revealed to be a key in another photo. There are also photos of maps and ancient artifacts.

The movie is set to tell the story of a young Nathan Drake before he becomes the badass treasure hunter from the game. Nathan Drake is known for his adventures across the world as he uncovers various historical mysteries. Sully is his mentor.

When previously talking about the film, Holland said that it is one of the best scripts he’s ever read:

“I think what Uncharted offers that most video games films don't is that it's an origin story to the games. So if you played the games, you haven't seen what's going to happen in the film. And if you haven't played the games, you're going to enjoy the film because it's information that everyone else is getting at the same time. But I'm super excited to make that movie and it's been a long time coming.

“I read the newest draft of the script on the way over here and it's one of the best scripts I've ever read. It really, really jumps off the page.”

Art Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote the most recent draft of the script. The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, and The 100 actor Tati Gabrielle. The Uncharted movie hits theaters on July 16th, 2021.
