New Photos From IT and Details On Bringing Pennywise The Clown to Life and Keeping it Weird

Thanks to EW we have a couple new photos from the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's It. They feature another image of Pennywise the Clown and the Losers Club.

I'm so stoked for this movie! I actually like the whole radcore element of the story being set in the 80s. It was just such a great era.  Anyway, we also have some new details regarding how Pennywise was brought to life for this new film.

Bill Skarsgard is taking on the role and from what I've seen he's awesomely creepy! When talking about the evil villain, director Andy Muschietti talks about him being in-your-face.

“He is present. It’s not like one of those movies where you can hide the monster. He’s front and center, he does his show, and he has an act. He is a clown.”

He expands on the whole clown aspect of the character and how the element of him is utilized in the movie. Pennywise is basically entertaining himself.

“It truly enjoys the shape of the clown Pennywise, and enjoys the game and the hunt. What’s funny to this evil entity might not be funny to everyone else. But he thinks it’s funny.”

When asked what the key was to bringing King's most iconic villain to life on the big screen, the director said:

“Keep it weird. It’s weird all the time. Pennywise does things that make absolutely no sense, but they’re very disturbing because of the weirdness.”

I love that. I love the whole weirdness aspect of Pennywise bring on the thrills and the chills. I just want to watch this movie already!
