New Photos From THE PREDATOR and Details on Reshoots Reveal References To Other PREDATOR Films
Some new photos have surfaced for Shane Black's The Predator. They feature most of the human characters in the film along with the enhanced super alien hunter that will be hunting them down. We also have some new details regarding the reshoots that the film has undergone, thanks to AvPGalaxy.
A lot of the changes that they've made in the reshoots involve a lot of stuff that we've seen in the trailer and previously released photos. According to the report, "the so-called 'friendly' Predators" that we’ve seen in set photos have been completely cut from the film, "as is the entire APC sequence and the various hybrid creatures. Only the Predator Dog mentioned in the recent set visits remains."
They go on to say that all of the "death sequences involving the more prominent characters have also been completely changed now and the final battle with the Upgrade Predator takes place at night in the woods." The upgraded Predator apparently gives the survivors a chance to escape before he begins to hunt them to find the best fighter amongst them.
It's also said that some of the new additional scenes connect The Predator to some of the previous films, including Alien vs. Predator. "Lex’s spear is now displayed alongside City Hunter’s spear from Predator 2. Casey, Olivia Munn’s character, is also shown some grainy pictures of the Predators from the first two films."
As long as the reshoots ultimately lead to giving fans a better Predator film... great! I just want to see another great Predator movie. This one certainly looks like it will be fun and action-packed, but I really hope that the story, script, and character development are great.
The movie stars Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. O.J. Simpson, This is Us), Keegan-Michael Key, and Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica).
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
Director Shane Black co-wrote the script with his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker, and it will be released in theaters on September 14, 2018.
