New Photos Released For Disney's A WRINKLE IN TIME Feature Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and More
Entertainment Weekly has released a collection of new photos from Disney and director Ava DuVernay's upcoming feature film adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time. The photos give us our first real look at a few of the big name cast members in the movie.
Those cast members include Chris Pine as Mr. Murry, Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, and Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which. The movie also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Mrs. Murry, Zach Galifianakis as The Happy Medium, Michael Peña as Red, André Holland as Principal Jenkins, Levi Miller (Pan) as Calvin, Deric McCabe as Charles Wallace, and Storm Reid as the iconic character Meg Murry.
I loved this book when I was a kid and I'm excited to see that it's getting a proper big screen adaptation. I can't wait to see some footage from it! I'm sure Disney plans on showing some stuff off at D23. I imagine the first trailer will be released during the event so stay tuned for that!
The film is a reimagining of Madeleine L’Engle’s classic novel that takes Meg Murry, her brilliant brother Charles Wallace and their friend Calvin on an unexpected journey into alternate dimensions on a mission to bring home their father.
First published in 1962, L’Engle’s novel has sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, receiving a recent surge following Chelsea Clinton’s mention during the Democratic National Convention. Winner of the Newbery Prize in 1963, “A Wrinkle in Time” has been translated into 35 languages.
Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time movie is directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma) and produced by Jim Whitaker and Catherine Hand. Jennifer Lee (Frozen) wrote the screenplay.
A Wrinkle in Time is set to debut in theaters March 9, 2018.
