New Plot and Casting Details Revealed for Wes Anderson's Next Film THE FRENCH DISPATCH
Wes Anderson is currently in the process of developing his next film project, which will be called The French Dispatch, and we have new plot and casting details to share with you today.
The movie was rumored to be a musical, but according to IndieWire, that’s not actually the case. The movie will not be a musical. The story for the film is set just after World War II and it’s “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th-century Paris and centers on three storylines.”
It has also been confirmed that Timothée Chalamet (Beautiful Boy) has been cast in the film along with Benicio del Toro and Jeffrey Wright. They will join Anderson regulars Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Tilda Swinton. Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and Léa Seydoux are rumored to be involved as well, but that has yet to be confirmed.
The film has apparently already been shooting for a few weeks, and the shoot will last the next four months. I’m a big fan of Anderson’s work, and I’m excited to see how this next film turns out. I’m sure we’ll learn more about it in the near future.
The French Dispatch will most likely be released sometime next year.
