New Popcorn Bucket For THE ODYSSEY is Literally a Trojan Horse

Movie-themed popcorn buckets have become a major part of the theatrical experience, and the latest collectible tied to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey might be one of the most fitting designs yet.

A newly revealed popcorn bucket for The Odyssey takes inspiration from one of the most famous icons in Greek mythology… The Trojan Horse.

The collectible is designed as a wooden Trojan Horse with the popcorn compartment built directly into its midsection. It’s definitely an unusual piece of movie merchandise, but considering the scale and mythology-inspired story Nolan is bringing to the big screen, it feels right at home alongside the film.

The movie’s official social media account unveiled the bucket with a short promotional video, accompanied by the message:

“The Trojan Horse Popcorn Bucket has arrived. Experience The Odyssey in theaters 07.17.26,”

This is already the second The Odyssey popcorn bucket announced in a matter of days. The film also introduced a limited-edition collectible modeled after an IMAX 15/65 camera. That version will be sold exclusively through IMAX and carries a $50 price tag.

While the IMAX camera bucket was a cool tribute to Nolan’s filmmaking process and love of large-format photography, the Trojan Horse version feels much more connected to the actual story audiences will be experiencing. Because of that, it wouldn’t be surprising if this ends up being the more sought-after collectible among fans.

Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey boasts one of the most impressive ensembles assembled for a modern blockbuster. The film stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, John Leguizamo, John Bernthal, Zendaya, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth, and Jimmy Gonzales.

The filmmaker recently spoke about the challenge and excitement of bringing Homer’s legendary tale to theaters, explaining: “It’s an epic film, as the subject matter demands,” he revealed. “But it is shorter.”

Nolan also discussed the pressure that comes with adapting one of the most celebrated stories ever told: Anyone taking on The Odyssey is taking on the hopes and dreams of people for epic movies everywhere, and that comes with a huge responsibility.”

Between the massive cast, the mythological scope of the story, and Nolan’s reputation for delivering unforgettable cinematic experiences, The Odyssey is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2026.

The Odyssey rides into theaters on July 17, 2026.
