SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 2024 Release Date Confirmed With Photo Teasing Shadow Storyline
A new teaser post has been released for fans of the Sonic film franchise. It confirms that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still in the works, and it has a released date that is about one year out. The post also teases the introduction of the character Shadow, that we first got to see at the end of Sonic 2.
Shadow is a dark version of Sonic that was created as the "Ultimate Life Form" by Dr. Robotnik by using the DNA of Black Doom, and is the final result of Project Shadow. According to the lore, his purpose was to provide ways to develop a cure for incurable deadly illnesses, more specifically for Gerald's granddaughter Maria Robotnik. He was also used as a weapon designed to take over the world. We will just have to wait and see which parts of his story they use in this movie.
Jeff Fowler will be back in the director's chair for the third film, with Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O'Shaughnessey voicing Miles "Tails" Prower, Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, all set to reprise their respective roles from the first two movies.
Jim Carrey's future as Dr. Robotnik is currently unclear as the sequel left his fate somewhat open-ended, as the actor has previously talked about his retirement. We will have to wait and see what happens with that.
