New Poster Art For DC's BIRDS OF PREY Includes Bernie The Beaver
Warner Bros. has released a new piece of poster art to share with you today for DC’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The poster features the whole girl gang that includes Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez).
We also see Harley's Hyena by her side and it also gives us our first look at Bernie the Beaver, who is making his big screen debut. He can be seen next to Harley's foot emerging from his hole and wearing a necklace.
Bernie is a taxidermied beaver that originally belonged to the family of Bernie Bash, her first crush. She stole it to have something to remember him by after he was sent to juvenile detention. Harley believes that Bernie talks to her, but nobody else can hear him. In the comics, Bernie is damaged from being burnt in an explosion and shot. This first look at Bernie doesn’t have any damage, but maybe that’ll change over the course of the film. It’s cool to see that Bernie will be included in the film in some way.
Here’s the synopsis for the movie:
Since the events of Suicide Squad, Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime, and Harley Quinn has left the Joker. When Cassandra Cain, a young girl, comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to help protect her.
The movie was directed by Cathy Yan and it also stars Ewan McGregor as the villainous Black Mask and Chris Messina as the serial killer, Victor Zsasz.
The movie will be released on February 7th, 2020.
