A new poster has been released for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which is currently set to be released on August 12th. But, that could very well get pushed back again depending on this COVID-19 madness.

There’s also been some controversy surrounding Nolan and his use of chairs on the set of his films. Earlier this week, The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar star Anne Hathaway reflected on her time working with Nolan and she explained to Variety that the filmmaker doesn't like to have chairs on his sets because if people are sitting down, they're not working. She said:

"Chris also doesn’t allow chairs. I worked with him twice. He doesn’t allow chairs, and his reasoning is, if you have chairs, people will sit, and if they’re sitting, they’re not working.”

That caused an uproar on social media, and Nolan’s spokesperson Kelly Bush Novak felt that she needed to issue a statement (via Indie Wire) to clarify that the Nolan has only ever banned a couple of specific items from his sets. The statement reads:

"For the record, the only things banned from [Christopher Nolan’s] sets are cell phones (not always successfully) and smoking (very successfully).

"The chairs Anne was referring to are the directors chairs clustered around the video monitor, allocated on the basis of hierarchy not physical need. Chris chooses not to use his but has never banned chairs from the set. Cast and crew can sit wherever and whenever they need and frequently do."

I just think it’s funny that this whole Christopher Nolan chair thing blew up into such a big story.

Anyway, I’m stoked about Tenet, which has been described as a “mind-blowing espionage thriller so unique that audiences will puzzle over its intricacies for years to come.” It’s also said to be a “time-bending masterpiece” about a Quantum Cold War. This is the synopsis for the film:

Armed with only one word – Tenet – and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. Not time travel. Inversion.

The movie stars John David Washington, Robert PattinsonElizabeth DebickiDimple KapadiaAaron Taylor-JohnsonClémence PoésyMichael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
