Some new promo art has surfaced online for Marvel’s upcoming film Eternals. The art features the Celestials and the main Deviant villain in the story, Kro. One of the things I’ve been excited about most regarding this movie is seeing the Celestials brought to life on the big screen! That’s gonna be something super exciting to see, and I’m expecting it to be epic.

A lot of the film’s details have been kept under wraps, but here’s the synopsis that was released for the movie:

Marvel Studios' The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind's most ancient enemy, The Deviants.

In the comics, The Eternals were sent to Earth 35,000 years ago by the Celestials to protect humankind from the Deviants. The director, Chloé Zhao, previously explained, “It’s about this group of incredible immortals, but through their journey, we really get to explore what it means to be human and humanity on our time on this planet.”

It’s also explained in a description for the film that following the events of Avengers: Endgame, “an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind's most ancient enemy, The Deviants.”

Kro is the leader of the Deviants and he’s an immortal-shapeshifter who has a complex relationship with the Eternals. The character is also an occasional love interest to Thena.

The cast of the film includes Angelina Jolie as Thena, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Richard Madden as Icarus, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and then there’s Kit Harrington as an archeologist named Dane Whitman.

Eternals will be released in theaters on November 5th, 2021.
