New Promo For THE DARK TOWER Focuses on Lots of Stephen King Easter Eggs

This is so cool! Warner Bros. just released an extremely fun new promo spot for The Dark Tower. What makes it so cool is the fact that it puts the focus on several Stephen King Easter eggs! It doesn't make mention of what they are, but if you're familiar with King's work you'll notice a lot of stuff. This goes beyond the Stanely Hotel and Pennywise the Clown Easter eggs from the first trailer.

When talking to EW about loading the movie with Steven King Easter eggs, director Nikolaj Arcel said:

“As one of his ‘Constant Readers,’ one of the things I found so much pleasure in was the fact that when I read one novel and I read the next one, there was the same town, there was the same character, or there was Castle Rock. It blew my mind. I wanted to have that same feeling.”
“I wanted Paul Sheldon’s book Misery’s Child in one of the shots. I wanted one of the old haunted places to be Pennywise’s house. And I got all that. It’s just like a dream come true for me, mixing every single thing. Cujo’s going to walk by. It’s just fun.”

If you look closely, some of the things you'll see are the Rita Hayworth poster from Frank Darabont's The Shawshank Redemption; Cujo walking down the street; Stand By Me with the "Attack Dog Keep Out" sign; The evil car Christine; The Dark Tower's Breakers, who are twins that seem like a callback to the Grady twins in The Shining; a Mr. Mercedes reference; a copy of Paul Sheldon's Misery's Child book; and even a reference to 14-08. Check out the trailer and see for yourself!
