New Red Band Trailer For THE LEGEND OF VOX MACHINA Season 2 Ups The Stakes

The Legend of Vox Machina, the animated series based on the wildly popular Dungeons & Dragons live stream game Critical Role, is coming back for a new season. Starting January 20 three episodes will be released every week for a total of 12 episodes available on Prime Video. This season is raising the stakes by having our unlikely heroes take on four dragons known as the Chroma Conclave who are bent on world domination. The show stars the Critical Role cast: Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham who all do a fantastic job reprising their characters. New guest cast featured in season two include Will Friedle, Billy Boyd, Henry Winkler, Lance Reddick, Cree Summer, Alanna Ubach, Cheech Marin, Troy Baker, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Ralph Ineson, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Returning guest cast includes Stephanie Beatriz, Indira Varma, Gina Torres, Kelly Hu, and Esmé Creed-Miles

The new trailer gives us a brief glimpse of the kind of danger four dragons can bring. From freezing and acid breath to just their sheer size and the destructive power that alone can bring, Vox Machina definitely has their work cut out for them this season. Last season ended with their triumphant return from White Stone and marks the point where I am no longer familiar with their story, so this is going to be all new to me which is exciting. Going back and listening to Critical Role to hear the story is an incredibly daunting task, with so many episodes each lasting 3-4 hours, sometimes longer.

I'm glad that they are making this show so that I can enjoy a more streamlined version of the story. Based on the trailer, the show will be just as violent and irreverent as season one, but hopefully will still be as worth watching.

Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think, are you excited for this season? Did you enjoy season one?
