New Report Confirms Kevin Feige Will Not Be Stepping Down as Head of Marvel Anytime Soon
There’s a lot of change going on with the people in charge under the Disney umbrella. Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro has been named as CEO and the successor to Bob Iger with Dana Walden as President and Chief Creative Officer.
Disney announced in January that Kathleen Kennedy is handing over Lucasfilm’s leadership to Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan.
But Deadline reports that Marvel is the one division that hasn’t seen an overhaul in exec changes over the last few years, and they intend to keep in that way for the foreseeable future.
The report explains that insiders don’t expect a change anytime soon as Kevin Feige, who has been with Marvel since 2000, and has moved up the ranks since the creation of the MCU, is focused on delivering the next Avengers movie in December as well as relaunching the X-Men franchise.
As the old adage states, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and for now, Feige is still doing a pretty good job. I like what’s on the horizon for Marvel, and if Feige feels like he has a vision moving forward, I am interested in seeing it play out.
