New Rumor Claims Hugh Jackman is Being Included in Marvel's Post-SECRET WARS Plans
It was a real feat bringing Hugh Jackman back to the role of Wolverine, which he had said goodbye to in the 2017 film Logan. But if anyone could do it, it was Ryan Reynolds, who coaxed his friend back with the promise of a kickass, funny movie and a hell of a good time. They pulled it off, and it opened up the door for Jackman to return for more Marvel adventures as the variant of Logan he returned as in the current MCU.
We’ve heard rumblings that he will return in Avengers: Doomsday, as well as Avengers: Secret Wars, but beyond that, it is anyone’s guess as to whether we will see his story conclude or move beyond with another Deadpool movie.
Reynolds has alluded to another film in the past, and fans have heard rumors that it could be an X-Force film with Jackman’s Wolverine, Josh Brolin's Cable, and the X-Men’s Storm. But we just don’t know for sure. Although, a new rumor supports the idea that Jackman’s Wolverine will live on after the events in Secret Wars.
In a recent report from scooper @MyTimeToShineH, the industry insider claims, "Hugh Jackman's Wolverine appears in Ryan Reynolds' script for the next Deadpool movie, which means he won't be retiring the role after Secret Wars."
This is interesting, as it not only points to the idea that Jackman will be the MCU's Wolverine post-Avengers: Secret Wars, but it could also mean that the Multiverse may still exist when this Saga is over. Will there be a new "Sacred Timeline" combining the worlds of the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four following Doctor Doom's defeat? How do you think it will all go down?
Whatever happens, I wouldn’t mind seeing Jackman come back for a few more Wolverine adventures.
